Bulldog Puppies
Bulldog puppies are usually very expensive not only because they are difficult to produce, but also because owning a Bulldog is a matter of prestige and fashion. Dogs with exaggerated features, like Bulldogs, are very difficult to mate, bring up, and keep. Firstly, quality Bulldog males lack drive and females often need artificial insemination. Secondly, the head of a quality puppy is so large that cesarean section is almost always necessary. Females and puppies need special care and vet assistance, which is very expensive.
There are several varieties of the Bulldog: English, American, French, and several others. They share the common ancestry, but differ much in appearance, personality, and working abilities. All Bulldog puppies are attractive and cute, but when they grow up, they may not fit the lifestyle of the family. Every breed has its own advantages and disadvantages. For instance, English Bulldogs snore; French Bulldogs need much attention; American Bulldogs require much exercise in the open. It’s very important to learn much about all varieties of the breed and choose the best suited one. Don’t buy a puppy just because you saw a dog of this breed and you liked it.
Owning Bulldog puppies is a serious responsibility. Though this breed in general is very intelligent and easy to train, the best features of the breed develop only in well bred and properly trained dogs. To get an obedient companion, you have to choose a responsible breeder who produces high quality dogs. Keep in mind that not all Bulldog varieties are recognized by the AKC. It means that they cannot participate in shows for purebreds. However, there are breed clubs and associations that promote rare breeds and can help with the choice of a responsible breeder.
Though Bulldogs are though to be the ideal dogs for lazy-bones, they need much attention and human companionship. A Bulldog cannot be left alone for a long time. It thrives for attention and enjoys communicating with humans. Early socialization around various people and in various situations is essential for all Bulldogs. Obedience training is a must for all Bulldog puppies, even if you don’t plan to show them in future.
